This one truly carries the Yash Chopra stamp! Picturesque locales, intense poetry, enviable costumes, Shah Rukh Khan's dimpled cheeks, his passionate lover avatar, teamed with Katrina Kaif's flawless beauty, and Anushka Sharma's effervescence -- the trailer of "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" regales with all this, and leaves fans guessing what's in store.

The trailer, released online at 1 p.m. Thursday, was viewed by over 2,30,000 views on YouTube within two hours. 

"It looks like the movie of the decade is coming... oh tiger; King is back... and that also with a bang," a fan named Ravi posted on the trailer's link.


Shah Rukh plays an army man named Samar in the film. He looks dapper as usual, but it is undoubtedly his loverboy smile that leaves the endearing touch. Add to that Katrina's chic looks and Anushka's bubbly, cheerful and energy-packed demeanour -- the film surely looks inviting, and expects to bring audiences to theatres in huge numbers upon its release Nov 13.

The trailer opens with Shah Rukh dressed in an army man's uniform, riding a bike in the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh. And Gulzar's deep poetry adds to the beauty of the backdrop.

Scenes of Katrina in floral gowns and Shah Rukh's intense gaze at her on London's streets give the touch of romance, as do his parts with Anushka amid the scenic beauty of Kashmir.


There is drama, love, passion and the trailer hints at a sense of vengeance in Shah Rukh's character, who walks amid random bombings towards the end. It looks like a case of a classic love triangle, but leaves a lot more to guess. 

"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is special for many reasons -- it marks the return of Yash Chopra to direction after seven years after "Veer-Zaara", Shah Rukh's trademark romantic avatar, and it has Gulzar's inimitable poetry, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman's melodies and shots from Kashmir.

Deepika Hopes for a National Award

Actress Deepika Padukone is honoured to receive the Smita Patil Memorial Award, and says such awards make her feel confident about her choice of work.

"She's (Smita Patil) someone whose work I admire a lot and the fact that I have got this award at such an early stage of my career, definitely makes me feel like I must be doing something right," Deepika said here at the award event.

"It gives me the confidence to go ahead and choose the kind of films I have been doing and believe in the kind of roles that excite me," added the 26-year-old, who received the award Tuesday.

Deepika, a model-turned-actress, started her film career with "Om Shanti Om" opposite Shah Rukh Khan. 

Her acting skills have been appreciated in the film circle, and she has won awards too. Deepika says actors don't work for awards, but if their hard work fetches them one, it's a great feeling.

Asked if she hopes for a National award, she said: "That's every actor's dream. When you do a shot in front of the camera, when you are working, that's not what is in your mind, you are not working to win the award. 

But at the end of the day when you finish a film and put in all the hard work, of course you want all the awards and if there is a National award that comes my way, most definitely." 

Deepika's forthcoming films include "Kochadaiyaan", "Race 2", "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani" and "Ram Leela."

Saif and Kareena can be called Bollywood's sexiest couple: Brad Pitt

Hollywood's reigning star Brad Pitt missed the opportunity of romancing Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai in "Troy", but with the growing presence of Indian films on the world stage, he says he might just decide to surprise fans by grooving in true Bollywood style any time.

"Indian cinema seems to be growing very well at its own pace. I would love to work in a Bollywood film as there is so much drama and colour in the films there," Pitt told in an email interview.

"The filmmaking, I hear, has evolved a lot in India and of late we have witnessed some good films making a presence at the Oscars and the world stage," added the actor. 

The presence of Indian films and their artists has witnessed a boost in the western world in recent times. International premieres, opportunities for actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, as well as A.R.Rahman's Oscar-winning feat for "Slumdog Millionaire" have drawn international interest in India's cinematic offerings. 

"That tells you a lot about the quality of the actors and the films. You never know when I might decide to work in a Bollywood film and do one of those dance numbers with the whole crew in the backdrop," quipped Pitt, who shot in the country for 2007 movie "A Mighty Heart".

The 48-year-old actor, who has been named among the sexiest men in the world multiple times, is especially fond of former Miss World Aishwarya. He says he is open to work with her. 


"Given a chance, I would like to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan because she's a versatile actor. She has worked brilliantly in films like 'The Mistress of Spices', 'The Last Legion', 'The Pink Panther 2' and 'Provoked' to name a few," said Pitt. 

"She is one of the most popular actresses of Bollywood, who has achieved huge acclaim in the west for her style, beauty and acting skills. I think we missed an opportunity to be cast together for the movie 'Troy'," he added. 

Aishwarya was reportedly offered to essay the historical part of Briseis, but she turned down the offer by director Wolfgang Petersen. "Troy", released in 2007, continues to be one of Pitt's best performances till date. 

Meanwhile, Pitt has finally decided to enter wedlock with his lady love Angelina Jolie, with whom he makes up the popular 'Brangelina' brand. The couple have six children. Though his wedding date is yet to be fixed, the actor has wished India's 'Saifeena' - Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor - all the best for their D-day next month.


"To be honest, I really think Saif and Kareena can be called Bollywood's sexiest couple so far. I am glad to know they are getting married soon. I wish them all the success for a happy married life," he said,

Pitt is currently eager for the release of gangster movie "Killing Them Softly", set to hit the screens Oct 5.

" 'Killing Them Softly' has a political agenda - one that it isn't too keen on hiding. It is an adaptation of a George V. Higgins novel about two low lives who make the unwise decision to rob a mob-funded card game and the hitman tasked with taking them down," he said of the movie.

I never wanted to be an actress: Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri says she was never inclined towards acting, but the "beautiful" script of "Rockstar", her debut movie, propelled her to change her mind.

"I wasn't supposed to be an actress, but when I heard the story of 'Rockstar', I was like 'Oh my god! I so wanted to do this'. (So) acting happened by accident," Nargis told on the sidelines of the launch of the Ultrasmart ME Ultrabook by HCL, Wednesday. 

The 32-year-old, who played Ranbir Kapoor's love interest in "Rockstar", was recently named the brand ambassador of HCL Infosystems's computing products.

She feels god has been very kind to her on the professional front. 

"I always feel that god has blessed me with many good things in life and he gave me so many wonderful opportunities in my life. I never say no to adventure and this is the reason why I was not able to say no to my debut film, because the story was beautiful. When you feel something in the heart, then you can't say no (to it)," she added.


Nargis looked picture perfect with minimal make-up and a simple, ankle-length dress here.

About her beauty regime, the model-turned-actress said: "I love trying new things so yoga is something that I religiously follow as it refreshes one's mind and soul. I love swimming also as it helps in burning calories.

For my next film, I wanted to do something distinct. In my upcoming film, I essay a lawyer in and it is based on a true-life incident of medical negligence.`

She adds, `We began shooting in Mumbai on September 12 and then decided to take a break for the Ganpati festival. We begin to shoot again from September 21.` 

About her disappearance from B-Town after Hate Story she says, `I had my Bengali film commitments that kept me busy in the past few months. In May, Bappaditya Bandopadhya's film Elar Char Adhyay based on Rabindranath Tagore's last novel Char Adhyay released. 

The film was also screened as part of the Bangla Film Festival in London. In July, there was a Bangla Film Festival and awards ceremony held in Pattaya in Thailand.` At the moment, Paoli has wrapped up her Kolkata assignments and is making Mumbai her base as she is keen to do more Bollywood films.

Somewhere down the conscious, every human being is ravenous for success and prestige and stars of cine galaxy are no exception to the rule. But the things get worst, when these stars get incarcerate within the confines their aspiration and eminence. A well recognized status and fame somewhere down the conscious adds on to self-esteem of these celebs who constantly live with an insecurity of losing it at the toss of a coin.

Sometimes this addiction to stardom compel these celebs, to have an unholy alliance with even the impassable domain of exorcism. And that is the ground where Vikram Bhatt's recently released cine flick Raaz-3 has its roots.

This much talked about cine flick starring Bipasha Basu, Emraan Haashmi and Esha Gupta opened with an occupancy of around 75% at the multiplexes.


Synopsis
Raaz-3 primarily revolves around, the verminous sport of exorcism and necromancy which comes into play, when the domination of an established actress is smashed into bits, by the arrival of a budding actress. And from their takes over the vengeance of an established superstar, who takes a resort in the dark lanes of black magic.


Story
Raaz- 3 is the narrative, of an established actress Shanaya Shekhar ( Bipasha Basu) for whom stardom and success are two essential vitalizing ingredients of her life. But the rising domination of Shanaya fragment into bits after the arrival of a younger actress Sanjana (Esha) who repeatedly trounce Sanjana in the competitive league of showbiz, which does not go down well with Shanaya.

In order to regain her lost glory, Shanaya decides to detach from the path of religion and opts for an unholy alliance with the dark lanes of necromancy and uses her director boyfriend Aditya Arora ( Emraan Hashmi) as pawn to meet her objective.

From their begins the anguish of Sanjana, who falls prey to abominable intentions of Shanaya. But the entire plan of Shanaya flips, when Aditya fall in love with Sanjana. But inspite of that Shanaya prefer to keep the vengeance tab on go and constantly keeps on making the the lives of the duo a living hell.


Script
Ever-since the era of Ramsay brothers, there is a thumb rule for the script of horror cine flicks which says that, it's the bloodcurdling appeal of the onscreen wraith and the spontaneity of those horror sequences which are the prominent ingredients to make horror flick a success.

But as far as scripts of Raaz- 3 is concerned, then besides having those strategically placed joggles, it has got ample amount of "Human-Element" in it which very well showcases the vengeance and agony of the protagonists with a sound dose of audaciousness. 

Though the script of Raaz-3 doesn't have any thing extra ordinary to offer, but inspite of that it somewhat succeeds in keeping the gaze of fans glued to the screen. So for penning down quite a common script but with utmost blending dexterity, Shagufta Rafiq deserves to be patted.


Dialogues
Quite in accordance with the soul of the script, dialogues too don't have any extra ordinary or over the top appeal, but inspite of that they well supplement the theme and nowhere make themselves appear as something, unnecessarily obtruded.

Screenplay
After delivering a box office disaster, Dangerous Ishq, finally Vikram Bhatt is back to re-write the success saga with Raaz-3. Since the first frame of the movie, Vikram pursues this cine cantata of vengeance and anguish with utmost dexterity. 

The flow of the narration takes off so beautifully that you nowhere feels like parting your gaze from the screen. Unlike those core horror flicks, Raaz-3, do not overburden you with those abrupt shocking blows of fear, rather it relies on a balanced blend of human element and horror.

Be it those spine-chilling horror sequences or some passionate scene, Vikram never allowed anything to go beyond the desired proportions and has adroitly succeeded in keeping every ingredient glued to the theme of the story. 

First half of the movie well succeeds in sowing the premise which showcases the vengeance of an actress whose rising stardom nose dives abruptly leading to the inculcation of jealousy and her stepping in the dark aisles of black magic. 


Ever-since the onset of premise, narration of Raaz-3 flows at a constant pace which further adds on to the curiosity of the cine buffs. And as far as emergence of those horror sequences is concerned, then Vikram has very well managed the marvelous spontaneity in their emergence and has kept that blow on face element at bay.

After witnessing the soothing flow of story in the first half, post interval portion of, Raaz-3, may appear as leaping towards climax for a while, but by the time climax reaches, the pace of the story regains its constant momentum to keep fan's attention glued to the celluloid.

As far as 3D factor is concerned, then it looks like post Dangerous Ishq Vikram has realised that `a vowed 3D should be a 3D`, hence in Raaz-3 he has made it sure that 3D embellishment in Raaz-3, should thoroughly succeed in impressing the movie enthusiasts.


Acting
As far as the performance of the protagonists of Raaz-3 are concerned, then it's Bipasha Basu who completely steals the show. Throughout the onscreen proceeding, Bipasha keeps on tapping the perfection with utmost adroitness. 

Be it sizzling an audacious scenes, or a psychopathic persona of an actress whose career is down sliding, Bipasha successfully managed to get into the skin of her character. In fact it won't be wrong to say that, Raaz-3 is surely going to revitalize the otherwise crumbling career of Bipasha.

In Raaz-3 Emraan is once again blessed with an opportunity, to get cozy with two sizzling beauties of showbiz. Thanks to the director. Keeping jokes apart, Emraan has once again succeeded in meeting the expectation of his fans and very well fit in the shoes of his character Aditya Arora with utmost excellence.


On the contrary to the performances of these two adroit protagonists, Esha's performance looks somewhat half-hearted in first half where she looks more of an actor sans expression, but as the story proceeds, she copes up well with the demand of her character. 

Though the supporting cast does not have much to do, as the major portion of the story revolves around Bipasha, Emraan and Esha, but inspite of that Manish Chaudhuri thoroughly succeeds in leaving his impact as wicked soul.

Music
Contrary to Bhatt legacy, Raaz-3 nowhere offers a marvelous dose of music, which is usually believed to be an inseparable part of Bhatt movies. Tracks like 'Rafta rafta', 'Deewana kar raha hai', 'Zindagi se' are soothing, melodious, but, not as impressive as the tracks of 2002 cine flick Raaz were. Even the peppy number Kya Raaz is not peppy enough to secure a slot among chart busters tracks.


BO Potential
With a massive brand value to provide an impetus to its BO earning, Raaz-3 is expected to emerge as one of the sought after movie of the year, which may succeed in regaining the lost glory for Vikram and Bipasha. And besides that, unlike the earning pace of Ek Tha Tiger and Rowdy Rathore, Raaz-3 is expected to make a decent amount on BO but at a constant pace of earning.


Verdict
To sum up, knitted around a core of, aspirations, vengeance and necromancy, RAAZ 3 is an entertaining cine cantata with a sizzling blend of sensuality, horror and human element in 3D. Infact it won't be wrong to say Raaz-3 is worth a watch to have glimpse of redefined horror genre of Bollywood.

For his role in a new Indie production called Prague, actor Chandan Roy Sanyal not only nearly lost his sanity he also ended up in a strippers' club to shoot with stark-naked strippers. 

Recounting the experience Sanyal said, `I had the most eerie and erotic experience in Prague shooting for my film Prague. I play this Bengali architect named, believe it or not, Chandan who goes to Prague and has an affair with this Czech gypsy. The girl was a first- timer on camera, so I had to guide her. `

Apparently while 'guiding' his Russian co-star Elena Kazan, Chandan 's scorching chemistry on screen got so hot it spilled out on the streets of Prague where the two were seen being openly and aggressively affectionate with one another. 

Challenge Chandan and he protests, `I am very clear about my relationship with my co-stars. I get completely involved with them while making love to them on screen. Once the film is over, I move on. This has happened with me a couple of times earlier also while I was shooting Bengali films.


As for Elena she was inexperienced. We had all these elaborate scenes to do. So yes, we were close. But Prague is not about lust and passion alone. My character is going insane. 

And I found myself losing my mental balance while playing him. To begin with we are both named Chandan, so each time I'd ask about my character I felt I was asking about myself in the third person. And then my character is a real sick man. He is schizophrenic. He is destroyed by his relatsionship with the Russian girl. `

Somewhere towards the the end of his character's sanity he lands up in a strip joint. 

Chandan's director didn't want to fake the striptease. 

Says Chandan, `We shot in a real strip club in Prague with real dancers who went all the way. They took off all their clothes and were stark naked in front of us. We've shot them with fully exposed. But we wonder if the Indian censorboard would appreciate the authenticity. `

'I am glad that I had great sex education'

Sex education is an important subject, says Riteish

Riteish Deshmukh has turned producer with Marathi movie "Balak Palak", which deals with curiosity about sex among adolescents. The actor says it is high time people should talk about it openly.

" 'BP' ('Balak Palak') as a subject deals with such curiosity that leads them (children) to seeking answers in an absolutely adventurous and comical way. 

At the end of it, of course, there is a message - it's about parents and teachers knowing the right time and the right way to handle the subject," Riteish said.

"I think it's about time we talk about these things and not beep words. Sex education is an important subject and I am glad that I had great sex education in my school," he added.

Directed by Ravi Jadhav, "Balak Palak" is based on the Marathi play with the same name and the music has been composed by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravijani.

"I always thought that as I work in the Hindi film industry, so producing Hindi films will be easy because I understand the dynamics of Bollywood quite well. 

But when such a topic comes in front of you, you think that you should be associated with it in some way," the 33-year-old said here Wednesday at the promo launch of the film.

Box office savours sweetness of Ranbir's 'Barfi!'

It is not a conventional subject, it is without the typical box- office success formula and the protagonist has no dialogues -- still Ranbir Kapoor as happy-go-lucky deaf and mute guy "Barfi!" has touched the heartstrings of the viewers and they are thronging the cinema halls giving it an overwhelming opening.

Rakesh Sippy of Raksha Entertainment Pvt Ltd told that "Barfi!" has "opened pretty well in multiplexes and in other cities". 

"In fact, the film had around 90 to 100 percent occupancy for the morning shows. It is doing exceptionally well. The film will pick up by word of mouth," he added.

Another touching tale narrated by talented director Anurag Basu, "Barfi!" has wowed the critics and the audiences alike. Distributors are equally happy with the response to the movie.

Besides Mumbai, the film has struck a chord with audiences in other cities too. 

Sanjay Ghai of Mukta Arts said that in Delhi, "the film has opened to 100 percent occupancy. The weekend shows are full because of advance booking. The report of the film is also very good". 


In Rajasthan, according to Sunil Bansal of Yash Raj Jai Pictures Pvt Ltd, the film has opened to 60 to 65 percent occupancy, which is quite good. "The film will pick up during the weekend," he said. 

If Ranbir is deaf and mute, Priyanka Chopra's character is autistic in the film. However, despite picking up sensitive issues, Basu has given it a light touch and presented it as a triangular romantic comedy. 

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines said the opening is pretty good and that it will certainly do well in multiplexes "as the reports of 'Barfi!' are very good. Let's wait till the weekend and see what the film does at the box office". 

Apart from superb performances, sound script and deft execution, the backdrop and music will do the trick.

Gym supplements 'can do more harm than good'

High levels of additional protein can cause side effects, which include nausea as well as kidney and liver damage, according to The British Dietetic Association (BDA).

It now demands clearer warnings about what is in gym supplements that can come in the form of powders and bars, the BBC reported.

The body needs protein for muscle growth and many gym goers use it to try to get bigger quickly.

Gym supplements come under food law so although they have to be labelled properly what is in them can vary.

They are different to medicines, which legally have to ensure contents are more specific.

There have been warnings before, most recently from the Food Standards Agency, which advises people not to take gym supplements containing DMAA.

The BDA argues there is now evidence to show excess levels of additional protein taken over a long time can cause health problems.

"The more protein in your diet the more you have to get rid of," the BDA.

"People who have these high protein diets are now running into problems with their kidneys because of the amount of protein they must get rid of," it added.

The association believes people can get enough protein naturally from things like chicken and milk.

However, the Health Food Manufacturers' Association, which represents the supplement industry, says compared to other foods or medicines, gym supplements have an enviable record.

Many people commenting on Newsbeat's Facebook page also defended the reputation of gym supplements.

Birth control pill for men is on the way

It is not too far when men can take their own birth control pill with no side effects, suggest a study done by a group of scientists.

Working on mice, the team found that a compound called JQ1 acts as an inhibitor to sperm production and also sperm mobility.

"Both of these are needed for fertility, but JQ1 prevents both," said Qinglei Li, an assistant professor in Texas A and M's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, who is a part of the team.

"It stopped the sperm production very dramatically. More good news is that there appear to be no side effects whatsoever. Once the JQ1 was no longer given to the mice, they were back to their normal reproduction rates, and it did not affect mating behavior or the health of the offspring," Li noted.

Martin Matzuk at Baylor College of Medicine and James Bradner at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute led the researchers.

Though the mice were given injections, the team believes that a pill could eventually be developed for the same results.

A male contraceptive pill has been talked about for decades, but so far none has been successfully created despite a strong demand.

While many men might be reluctant to take out the trash or ask for directions if they are lost, recent studies have shown that about 70 percent of men would be willing to take a birth control pill if it were available.

One drawback to many female contraceptives is that they sometimes interfere with hormones, especially estrogen. But Li said the team is confident that JQ1 does not affect testosterone levels in men, and appears to have no other side effects as well.

As with many discoveries, the JQ1 compound appears to have come about by accident.

It was originally used for anti-cancer treatments, but researchers found it was also an excellent compound in controlling fertility.

"This is an exciting step in male contraception. A compound with more specificity will be needed before clinical trials can be done for humans. It does not mean a male birth control just yet, but it is a great step forward in that direction," Li added.

Their work has been published in the journal Cell.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson is the favorite celebrity bait for cyber criminals trying to lure Internet users, a report has said.

This makes Watson the 'most dangerous' celebrity to search for online, said Web security company McAfee.

MacAfee said many sites use her name to trick users into downloading malicious software or to steal personal information, the Daily Express reports.

When searching for the 22-year-old actress there is a one-in-eight chance of landing on a malicious site, the security firm said.

This is the sixth time the Intel-owned security technology company has conducted the study, which was last year topped by Heidi Klum.
