No IPL team for Salman Khan

Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- For a few days now, reports have been claiming that Salman Khan is interesting in bailing out the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Deccan Chargers. According to the buzz, Salman was among the interested buyers. He had even submitted a bid to take over the ownership of the team. The base price for the Hyderabad franchise, which was bought for Rs. 428 crore in 2008, is now estimated at around Rs. 750 crore.

The rumour was fuelled by the fact that Salman's colleagues such as Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan already own IPL teams (Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively). But on Friday, the star denied these reports, asserting that he is not interested in the IPL bandwagon.

The 46-year-old posted a message on Twitter, saying, "No IPL team for me just being human and movies (sic)." Salman followed up the message with another: "Clear? Good (sic)." Meanwhile, the star, on Friday, joined the list of actors who have their own official Facebook pages.
